What happens at this class?

This is a chill out class to help us unwind from a busy day.

 We start with some letting go and releasing. We connect to the breath and then start to warm up with joint freeing exercises. We do stretching and releasing working with breath and movement. We do vinyasa (flowing yoga movements to music} We work on strength and flexibility before winding down with restorative yoga and gentle inversion before slow relaxing breathing and final relaxation.

Who is this class for?

This class is suitable for beginners as well as people who have practiced yoga before.
This class is recommended for helping to balance the nervous system, which helps our mental, physical and emotional wellbeing.

Tuesday Evening  Yoga

First time at Yoga so a little apprehensive. Donna, was welcoming & helpful, supplying me with a mat, cushion & knee support (both of mine crocked). Her direction was clear and everyone could sense her willingness to go slowly and not expect anyone to get the variety of moves and stretches immediately. A very sensitive person. I felt truly recharged after the 75 minute session. Slept very well & fewer pains! I shall return!

This is a group class for all abilities, beginners are very welcome. I encourage you to work at your own pace. no need to worry what anyone else is doing.  There is no competition in a yoga practice, not even with yourself. I will always help you with modifications to make the practice work for your body. This class is very accessible and will give you confidence in your body.   

We always start with some warming up, sometimes a breathing practice to centre. We work towards a pose ,taking time to get there. We have fun along the way to make the practice enjoyable and achievable .

Towards the end of the class we practice some yoga breathing, which is called pranayama. This is of huge benefit to the nervous system and helps us to relax and calm before final relaxation for around  ten minutes. This is so helpful for our mental health and well being and helps the immune  system to work better.

I rarely give 5* but Donna is pretty close.  She is very experienced, adapts to the needs of a huge range of people of various ages and physical needs.  Donna knows her stuff in regard to body mind alliance, anatomy/body function/disabilities, and brings new ways of working all the time.  Competition, or pushing ones body through pain are never recommended... everyone does what their own bodies and mental health need.   Donna teaches at all levels and I started with a few one to ones, progressing to two rather different classes a week, as well as her home videos!!!  

Face-to-face yoga at St. Stephens Hall, Bexhill-on-Sea

This class will focus on health and wellbeing, a lovely class for beginners or if you have been doing yoga for years. Building on strength, balance and cocodination . We will learn a new posture and sequence every week and then return to them as a practice. We will work on breath and slow mindful movement to help bring a calming effect on the nervous system. Towards the end of the class we will work on breathwork, a short meditation and relaxation. This is a fun and friendly class. It’s nice to be part of a growing community of people and to make new friends. The country market is on at the Memorial hall soon after the class so it might be nice to stop for a cup of tea after the class.

This is a lovely class to get your day off to a good start.  This is a slightly faster pace than my Monday class, although still suitable for beginners as well as those who are practiced in yoga. 

We start with warm ups, breathing and gentle stretches. We work with breath and movement. This has an energizing quality that is truly nourishing. We usually work on Standing postures, then floor. I always include a balance and a gentle inversion. We finish with a breathing practice and relaxation.

Wednesday Morning Rise and shine yoga

This is a 12 video course which is pre-made for you to complete in your own time over the holiday season. You can work through the videos consecutively from Day 1 to Day 12, or pick and choose as you wish. 

These videos are a mixture of yoga, meditation, relaxation and breathing that can be used separately or combined.
